Class Size
Our minimum class size is 10 students; our maximum is 20. Classes are formed with students in compatible age and language experience groups.
Teachers
Most Kids Like Languages instructors are native to the language and culture they teach. Some are formally trained educators. All receive Kids Like Languages training.
Our instructors bring these abilities, skills, and knowledge to the classroom:
• Vitality and enthusiasm when working with students.
• Firm and fair classroom management skills.
• Fluency of the target language, and cultural knowledge of the country of the language being studied.
Individual and group tutoring is available through Kids Like Languages. Tutoring can assist with middle school or high school language study.
When fewer than 10 students register for a regular class, parents are given the option of creating a tutoring class with a higher fee.
Tutoring is a good choice if your student is beyond the level of the class being offered. This may be the case if they have studied the language, lived in another country or attended an immersion school.
To find out about tutoring, please phone Claudia at Kids Like Languages, 503.658.1980.
A fun way for your child to be introduced to another language is through our 2017 Summer Camp. Twelve camps will be held June-August.
Each week you can choose from four languages: Spanish, French, Japanese or Mandarin.
Camp runs five days, Monday through Friday, for two age groups: Pre-K through 2nd grade, and 3rd through 6th grade.
Camps are held in four Portland and Beaverton locations.
Enrollment begins in April. Enroll by June 12 .
